Week 69 六十九週 - January26, 2026 - 新組 XinZhu

 大家好！

Highlights

    -We met with Howard's mom a couple times!!!!

     -Got to talk to Elder Wardle!!!

     -Went to Net

     -Brought back 2 BOXES and a bike box full of McDonald's to the church after interviews with President for him and the district (美國人 activities)

     -Got buttered up by President 

     -Missionary work 

     -Had some hard interactions on the street

     -Had some hard lessons and church

     -Did an interview to be an FSY counselor this summer??

It was another "though Israel be not gathered, yet shall I be glorious in the eyes of the Lord, and my God shall be my strength" (1 Nephi 21:5) kind of week.

It makes my heart heavy when people have the commandments right in front of them but they choose something of no eternal worth to do instead.

2 Nephi 9

51 Wherefore, do not spend money for that which is of no worth, nor your labor for that which cannot satisfy.

12 I am he; yea, I am he that comforteth you. Behold, who art thou, that thou shouldst be afraid of man, who shall die, and of the son of man, who shall be made like unto grass?

Men and women at their best still make mistakes and eventually die. How magnificent it is that God cares so much about us! How magnificent it is that His work and His glory is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man. Let us act accordingly～

Week 68 六十八週 - January 20, 2026 - 新竹 XinZhu

 大家好！

Highlights:

     -Our friend 蔡佩勳 (Cai PeiXun) got baptized!!!! She is so amazing--new 陪課 (Member lesson person) unlocked~

     -Sister Bird had the plague for 3 days as a fulfilling of a prophecy she received in a blessing so we got really good at former finding

     -Howard (a recent convert) brought his mom to church!!!! AND she set up a return appointment!!!!!!! Happiest day ever

     -Cut my companions hair for her birthday but she didn't tell us it was for her birthday till that night 

     -Temple P day!!!

     - 范酉青 (fan Youqing) gave us presents and told me it's so I can never forget her

I want to badly to be obedient to the command "Be ye therefore perfect" and "what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am", but Christ has also made it very clear that He is "meek and lowly in heart".

It is truly like the Savior to learn from those who seem less capable or less learned.

Everyone knows something you don't know! (I think Bill Nye said this). Living with this perspective has enhanced my spiritual life. I invite you all to do the same.

Week 67 六十七週 - January 12, 2026 - 新竹 XinZhu

 大家好！

Highlights:

     -Zone conference

     -不安 (disturbing) Chris

     -Lots of cool moms brought their kids to church 

     -Had a really cool 請客 (Member meal) with 潘姐妹 (Sister Pan) because she is amazing

     -范小姐 (Miss Fan) started remembering things from the Book of Mormon!

     -Went to a lot of cool friends houses to meet with them!

     -Went to the beach for P Day

I love the metaphor that we live in a spiritually corrosive environment. Testimonies gained can be lost! 

This is why I am so grateful for the commandments, for the sacrament, for further covenants that can be made in the temple, and the daily things like CPR. God has literally given us all the tools we need to succeed!

Lifelong Discipleship is the most exciting thing ever. Its so exciting that there is never an end to the improvement we can make of ourselves and our testimonies. Do the work required!

Week 66 六十六週 - January 5, 2026 - 新竹 XinZhu

 ㄉㄚㄐㄧㄚㄏㄠ!  (Hello Everyone - in Bopomofo)

Highlights

     -I deleted the pinyin keyboard off of my phone--we are Taiwanㄖㄣ(People)

     -Went to 6 week follow up! (Great start to the new year)

     -Exchange with 林姐妹 (Sister Lin)!!! Got to see Linda and 辛媽 (Mom Xin) and 田姐妹 (Sister Tian). mwa

     -2 請客s (Member Meals)! Shoutout 竹三 (Xinzhu 3rd) Bishop and 劉弟兄 (Brother Liu)

     -Lost my companions a couple times (biking in a trio unlocked)

     -My brother met Frank?

     -Went to try and visit a 不見的 (Missing) RC and ended up door knocking and found a cool friend!

In light of the Old Testament: 

Jeremiah 31: 

33 But this shall be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel; After those days, saith the Lord, I will put my law in their inward parts, and write it in their hearts; and will be their God, and they shall be my people.

I LOVE the fact that covenant relationships with God can literally change us. 

There's a C.S Lewis quote I'll paraphrase because I don't have the exact quote but here's a summary:

~Whenever we make a choice, we are literally changing the part of us on the inside that chooses~

This is #1

Why we are never on neutral ground; every choice we make chips away at the thing-that-chooses-part-of-us into a sculpture based on the choice. 

And #2

Why covenants are so powerful! 

When we make a covenant with God, it unlocks another choice. A choice to keep the covenant!

Everytime we make the choice to keep our covenant, it's like an extra strong, professional God-level stone smith can polish us and chip at us until we have become Gods 'peculiar treasure'.

We haven't unlocked the choice to keep a covenant until the covenant has been made!

Covenants do not exist to make us people obedient to a specific set of rules, but to make us into people of a particular sort. (Also paraphrased from C.S. Lewis)

I'm so grateful for my covenants. They will perfect us. What a blessing it is to be refined and perfected by God.
