Week 52 - 五十二週 - September 29, 2025 - 龜山 - Guishan

 大家好!!

Highlights:

     -The final DC (District Council) (I'm staying)

     -Transfers!!! I'm staying in 龜山 (Guishan) but Sister Ingram is moving to open 中壢 (ZhongLi)! I'm happy she is still in my zone at least :)

     -The transfer board came out a day early and we almost missed it 

     -Met a cool bujiji成員 (not active member) on the street! I love when that happens!

     -Saw a former on the street while we were biking and we SCREECHED to a halt--she might be back for more now ;)

     -cracked an apple in half with my bare hands 

     -Apparently I hit a year as a missionary tomorrow??

It's the coolest thing in the word to be a missionary. We literally (especially in the non--Christian world of Taiwan) introduce people to Jesus Christ for the first time every day. 

I sometimes can't believe that God trusts us enough to do that. What a blessing!!!

Week 51 - 五十一週 - September 22, 2025 - 龜山 - Guishan

Highlights:

     -Most insane Saturday 

     -Funeral + baptism in the same day (mixed feelings)

     -新竹 (MuZha) exchanges!! I was back with the beloved Sister Howard :)

     -Ripped apart a chicken

I have learned some cool things about healing recently!

There is a difference between being cured and being healed. To be cured is to return to the state that you were in before but healing is to become more. Christ doesn't just cure us, He heals us. Do not expect to be the same.

This talk meant a lot to me in light of recent events. Being there for the final moments of someones life last week has got me thinking about this a lot. Would I have the faith to not be healed?

Week 50 - 五十週 - September 14, 2025 - 龜山 - Guishan

 大家好！！

Highlights:

     -Exchanges with Sister Parker!!

     -We got to go sing for a lady the day before she died! Most insane day of my life as of yet

     -Sang a song in the ward choir as service to 辛嗎 (Xin Ma)

     -Got to see all the members from 八德！！ (Bade)

I've been pondering recently on what I can do to inspire people in a way that causes them to use their agency for righteousness.

Here are some thoughts:

Foreordination!!!! I decided that knowledge of the premortal world is great, but knowledge of foreordination is inspiring. 

"Once we know who we are, and the royal lineage of which we are a part, our actions and direction in life will be more appropriate to our inheritance" (No idea where this came from)

Knowing who we are is the key. This is why Satan is so insistent on making us forget!!

We can only know who we are when we know where we came from, and who we were in the premortal life.

Everyone on this earth has been reserved for the last days! We all have a responsibility to be useful to the Lord in His work! Nothing is of more importance!

That is inspiring. 

Having responsibility like that encourages us to do more, in order to become more.

Week 49 - 四十九週 - September 8, 2025 - 龜山 - Guishan

 大家好！

Highlights

     -Triple exchanges!!

     -Leofoocun amusement park

     -Put someone on Baptismal date on the street

     -Our Zone brushed our teeth together  (Operation white pearls)

     -Never been more tired

The Lord is not interested in our comfort.

When we gain the "mind of Christ" (1 Corinthians 2:16), we won't be interested in our own comfort either. It is when we fully submit our wills to God that we can experience joy in tribulation!

Week 48 - 四十八週 - September 2, 2025 - 龜山 - Guishan

 大家好！！

Highlights:

     - Me and Sister Ingrams RC (Recent Convert) from 八德 (Bade) came to visit us :)

     - Exchanges with LSTLs in 三重! (Sanchong)

     -Trained at Zone conference???

     - Temple P Day!!

     - Had an amazing district council (we do it at 9:30 so we don't waste any time) (my kind of people)

     - some heartbreaking drops

READ THIS PART

Miracle: We were finding for hours and hours one day and it felt like we were finding no friends and I almost started crying. Our finding block ended and I felt so discouraged because we were still 2 friends off from our goal. It was hard because we just had Zone conference about setting consecrated goals and trusting God's math, but it felt like nothing we did worked!

I was in the midst of telling my companion this when she looked and me and started telling me about all the miracles we saw that day. We started listing miracles, and it was in that exact moment of decision to change my mindset that someone started talking to us and became a friend. Only a few steps later, another person came up to us and became a friend too! 目標達成了！！(Goal achieved!)

This felt like a wonderful Godly chastisement. It was crystal clear to me that God wanted to do his work through me and not have me do the work alone. 

We are in the palm of His hands!

Insight

Swallowed Up in the Will of the Father (Elder Maxwell) --> That's where all these quotes are from ~

"if the Master is a stranger to us, then we will merely end up serving other masters"

Some people think consecration is limiting or a mindless caving in to God--what they don't realize is that when we don't give our wills to God, we are simply giving it to something else. Work, a GPA, money, friends 等等 (etc) --because of agency, there is no passive 'inbetween'. We don't choose whether or not to give our wills--we only choose who/what we give our wills to.

Consecration allows us to be useful! When I realized this this week, the work became so much more happy. Seeking to be useful to God and others is fulfilling and helps you escape from the mind-numbing temptation to succumb to perfectionism (which is pride).

Seek to be a useful tool in the Lords hands! We are already there anyway--might as well be a good tool :)
