Week 46 - 四十六週 - August 18, 2025 - 八德 / 龜山 - Bade/Guishan

 大家好！

Final Sunrise in 八德 (Bade)

Highlights:

     -Final bike ride to 中壢 (Zhong Li)

     -朱媽媽+王家庭啊請客 (Zhu Mama and the Wang Family treated us to dinner)

     -Turned 20!!

     -War against the wind

     -Moved to 龜山 (Gui Shan) and I'm back with Sister Ingram!!!!!!

I love the idea that we can change others simply by the way that we are. Are we the kind of person who's countenance can bring others closer to the Savior? What do we need to do/change in order to have this kind of countenance?

Week 45 - 四十五週 - August 11, 2025 - 八德 - Bade

 大家好！！

Highlights:

     -Fathers Day happened here! (ECG was awesome) (Got to sing for everyone)

     -Found a lizard

     -Mission Tour with Elder and Sister Tai from the Asia Area Presidency!

     -A member from our ward is going on his mission tomorrow!!!!

     -Found a mafia boss who told us he has 4 wives and his goal is 5

     -Got to make some pottery!!!!!!!!!!!!! It healed my soul!!!!!

During Mission Tour, it was very stressed that the things we are learning here on the mission are things that we must keep with us forever.

"They either go back as more, or less than what they were before, but they can't go back to what they once were" (Elder Holland) 

Heres an analogy:

Imagine life is a hill and we are a car. We must continually be moving and accelerating in order to get up the hill right?  Things like CPR and temple attendance allow us to continually progress upwards. However, once we stop accelarating, we don't just stop. We roll backwards. 

It is the same with us.

Matthew 12:43-45

43 When the unclean spirit is gone out of a man, he walketh through dry places, seeking rest, and findeth none. 

44 Then he saith, I will return into my house from whence I came out; and when he is come, he findeth it empty, swept, and garnished. 

[We can't go back.]

45 Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first. Even so shall it be also unto this wicked generation.

Alma 12

11 And they that will harden their hearts, to them is given the lesser portion of the word until they know nothing concerning his mysteries;

Week 44 - 四十四週 - August 4, 2025 - 八德 - Bade

 大家好！

Highlights:

     -Got some 芒果學花冰 (Mango Flower Ice)

     - 朱媽媽＆林家庭的請客 (Member meals with Zhu Mama and the Lin Family)

     - Interviews with the Whiteley's!!!

     - Amazing weather

     - Prayed to find someone wearing blue and the next person we talked to (who was wearing a blue shirt) became a friend and then referred his girlfriend who is also now a friend!!! He basically asked me to give him a Book of Mormon it was awesome

     - Discovered more about the 2 great commandments 

     - Our RC (Recent Concert) got to go to the temple for the first time!!!

     - Experienced the anguish of having to stop teaching a golden friend (pray for Kurt 黎光翊 (Li Guangyi) that he will not give up on this forever and will come back)

This scriptures has really stood out to me this week:

James 1

2 My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; 

3 Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. 

4 But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

'Wanting nothing'. This phrase has been spinning in my head all week. 

To be so swallowed up in the will of the Lord that we no longer even want anything of our own is the goal. This is the difference between sacrifice and consecration.

This is also what it means when Christ says, "Be ye therefore perfect"! (Matthew 5:48, 3 Nephi 12:48) 

Therefore, we should rejoice in tribulation. Rejoice in the testing of our patience, ability to love, and ability to resist temptation 等等 (etc.), for God is giving us the chance to become perfect, 完全 (wan quan), wanting nothing, even as He is. 

Revelations 3

21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.
