Week 30 - 三十周 - April 28, 2025 - 新店 Xindian

 大家好！

 

Highlights:

     -We went to Costco!! (It was insane)

     -ZONE CONFERENCE (It was insane)

     -President sat on a desk and we all put one finger under the desk and lifted him off the ground together! Super cool visual for the power of obedience to the standards

     -So many miracle new BD dates! I love when people invite themselves to be baptized :)

     -Finaly got to visit our RC (recent convert) Tina!! She recently had a baby so it was nice to truly meet with her :)

     -Almost everyone we confirmed for church came! It was a miracle because a lot of them had doubts, but they came anyway! (Never be afraid to be bold and ask people to change their lives)

     -Felt prompted to share a certain scripture with someone on the street and it turned out to be her password! I thought that was really cool:)

     -I promised a lady in 木柵 (Muzha) that I would make a Book of Mormon for her to help her find her purpose in life, so I did that and had the 木柵 Sisters give it to her. Now she is meeting with the missionaries!! She is the type of friend that brings a pen and pencil with a marked Book of Mormon to lessons and brings the Spirit so that everyone cries! Huge miracle :)

I have approximately [one trillion] spiritual thoughts I could share but I suppose just one will suffice:

I have been thinking recently about how I can worship and glory in the Father in the same way that Jesus does, so I read the intercessory prayer. This is one part that really stood out to me:

John 17:

5 And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.

Since we are all children of God, we all had glory with the Father before the world was! I have started praying to remember this glory. 

We have so much potential as children of God! It is unfathomable. 

In Revelations 3:20-21, Jesus gives us this promise:

20 Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me. 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

We have the potential to sup with Jesus. To sit in His throne. We can hear His voice! 

As we sanctify ourselves through obedience (which is the application of faith), we will receive this glory. 

As we submit our will to the Father as Christ did, we will receive the riches of eternity. Oh how I pray that we will never live below this privilege. We know what we must do.

♡陳端儀 --> That she will continue to feel the spirit as she CPRs!

Week #29 - 二十九周 - April 21, 2025, 新店 Xindian

 大家好！

Highlights:

     -I love 新店!!!! (Xindian)

     -Bike tumble

     -Put all our progressing friends on baptismal date!!

     -Started to actually memorize the Living Christ

     -A lady followed us outside of Starbucks basically asking if she could meet with us! It was such an incredible miracle!

     -We forgot to buy dinner for Sunday but  潘姐妹 (Sister Pan) brought us food at church (miracle, she really is my mom) <3

     -MARTTY GOT BAPTIZED!!!

Happy Easter! 

I've been thinking a lot about my worship of God recently. I frequently ask myself these questions:

     -What sign do I want to give to God?

     -What would Jesus do? (say to this person, act in this moment, etc)

     -What service would I give to Jesus?

     -What can I do today to more fully submit my will to the Lord?

     -What lack I yet?

Why does asking these questions help us? 

-->

They help us prepare to meet God.

We were gifted this time here on earth to become the kind of people that can live with our Heavenly Father again. Because of Justice, we will be restored according to our deeds. Because of Jesus Christ and His Atonement, mercy can satisfy the demands of justice! However,  if we don't use the Atonement, mercy can have no claim upon us.

Alma 34

16 And thus mercy can satisfy the demands of justice, and encircles them in the arms of safety, while he that exercises no faith unto repentance is exposed to the whole law of the demands of justice; therefore only unto him that has faith unto repentance is brought about the great and eternal plan of redemption.

31 Yea, I would that ye would come forth and harden not your hearts any longer; for behold, now is the time and the day of your salvation; and therefore, if ye will repent and harden not your hearts, immediately shall the great plan of redemption be brought about unto you.

Part of worshipping God is to always have these things in mind. Constantly pondering about whether what we are doing, saying, listening to, preparing for or thinking about will or will not please God is a form of worship!

The Savior was the best at doing this. He is our perfect example! His worship of the Father was reflected in every action; everything He did was for the glory of the Father. I want to be like that.

As we give our will to the Lord and truly become instruments in His hands, the fewer decibels are required for Him to communicate with us. We will receive more inspiration and revelation and begin to understand the mysteries of God! There is no better way to prepare to return to God than to understand His mysteries!

But of course we must act.

"The more hesitation, the less inspiration" (Elder Neil L. Maxwell, Willing to Submit)

I invite you all to reflect on your life. Ask yourself if God would be pleased with what you are doing now. If not, I encourage you to take action! Where is your soul tilting? Where are you facing? What are you looking at? 

As we worship God in this fashion, we will be transformed. 

"Trust Him that He will make of you, immeasurably more, than you will ever, ever, in all eternity, make of yourself. He will create a masterpiece. You will create of you only a smudge. You will create an ordinary man. He will create a God" (Lawrence E. Corbridge, The Fourth Missionary)

Don't procrastinate your salvation or waste your potential!

Week 28 - 二十八周 - April 14, 2025 - 木柵/新店 - Muzha/Xindian

 大家好！

     

Highlights:

     -Put all of 木柵's (MuZha's) potential BD friends on BD??? (Baptismal Date)

     -Earthquake!

     -Had a lesson in French with Elder Furner helping us translate (I recorded it it was so cool)

     -Incredibly spiritual ECG! (Engish class) I've never testified so boldly that the spirit was in the room. Afterwards some of our friends that aren't interested in the gospel started asking us questions about it ;)

     -Got soaking wet in the rain! 

     -Found out I am reopening 新店 (Xindian) and training a baby!

     -Transfer day happened and I am now training 賴姐妹 (Lai Jiemei)! She is from 台中 TaiZhong and she is amazing!!! (She speaks basically zero English though so please pray for me)

     -A member from my home ward showed up at church??? Eddie thank you so much for visiting me it made my week :) 

     -Conference in Chinese

     -Visited 潘姐妹's (Sister Pan's) house and ate the best homemade food ever! I love her so much! 

     -Our area book is broken so we are doing everything by paper right now

I am so grateful I got to serve in 木柵 (Muzha) for a time. The people there truly hold such a special place in my heart!

One thing that really stood out to me at conference was the focus on how we can prepare for the second coming of the Savior right now!

I've been thinking a lot about what it will be like to see God. How will I react? How will I feel? How can I become the kind of person who will be filled with joy when I see His face?

I found one answer in Ether 12:

4 Wherefore, whoso believeth in God might with surety hope for a better world, yea, even a place at the right hand of God, which hope cometh of faith, maketh an anchor to the souls of men, which would make them sure and steadfast, always abounding in good works, being led to glorify God.

I want to highlight the last part of this verse. It is by doing good works that we are led to glorify God, not the other way around!

It all comes back to the simple principle of faith. You have to act first!

But what does always abounding in good works mean? What does that look like in a day to day life?

There obviously isn't a cookie-cutter-answers-everything answer, but one answer I've found is to just do what Jesus would do. Literally ask yourself this question and then act! Moroni teaches us that "whatsoever thing is good is just and true; wherefore, nothing that is good denieth the Christ, but acknowledges that he is" (Moroni 10:6)

To ask yourself 'what would Jesus do right now?' is one way that we acknowledge that he is. When we are constantly acknowledging that he is, we will be always abounding in good works!

Once we start asking ourselves this question, we will act in patience, charity, faith, virtue, diligence, obedience and all other Christlike attributes. I can think of no better way to prepare to meet God then to become as He is. That is our purpose here on earth. 

So my invitation is to actively ask yourself what would Jesus do! Act in a way that will please God and you will have a happy life:)

Week 26 and 27 二十六 + 二十七 - March 30 &April 7 - 木柵 - Muzha

 大家好！

My email did not send last week for some reason but a lot has happened so here you go:

Highlights

     -Hit a new record for 1 transfer: 4 companions, 5 different companionships and 2 areas!

     -I am in 木柵 (MuZha) now! Its awesome!

     -Sister Lewis had to go home to America (please pray that she will quickly recover) So I got put into a trio with the 木柵 sisters!

     -Went to an epic hospital

     -潘姐妹 (Sister Pan treated us to dinner!!! She is so amazing

     -Was in a trio for a week but then Sister Howard had to move to 板橋 (BanQiao) so now its just me and Sister Tuck for a week!

     -Saw so many miracles--our district has now lost 2 people this transfer but God is seriously helping us achieve our goals anyway!

     -Ran in a rely race to appease the ward

     -Went to the temple!!!!

     -Got a miracle friend on BD date!

     -Martty texted me and told me he is finally ready to be baptized!!!

     -I am on the front row seat of the Lord hastening His work it is insane

A thought on Faith:

I always knew that faith was a mechanism provided by God to help us learn and grow, but this week I realized another purpose of faith:

Alma 32

19 And now, how much more cursed is he that knoweth the will of God and doeth it not, than he that only believeth, or only hath cause to believe, and falleth into transgression?

I realized from this verse that Faith actually protects us from condemnation.

If we knew of a surety that God existed--if we saw Him--we become in much more danger of committing the unpardonable sin. We can only fall as far as we have risen. If we see God and then transgress, we are committing the unpardonable sin of denying God that cannot be forgiven.

Having a perfect knowledge of God puts us outside of the boundaries of the Atoning power of Jesus Christ! It is in Gods mercy that we must walk by faith instead of having a perfect knowledge.

We should only want to see God after we have become the kind of person that would never deny Him. We have to become that kind of person through faith first so that we can safely gain the fulness of knowledge. Faith is the protective net that keeps all of us from falling into the pit of outer darkness!

This is the Plan of Salvation. Gods purpose truly is to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man! Its marvelous! Every time I read the scriptures I come to understand more of the mysteries of God.

The Doctrine of Christ--faith, repentance, baptism, the gift of the Holy Ghost and enduring to the end--is the mechanism by which we become the kind of person that is in no danger of committing the unpardonable sin after gaining a perfect knowledge of God. We know what we must do.

I encourage you all to seek the understand the mysteries of God! Why limit ourselves to worldly knowledge? We have everything we need to find out for ourselves :)
